365-days In & Out of Atlanta

I took 365 pictures of Atlanta from July of 2012 to July of 2013 using a Verizon Wireless HTC Rhyme cell phone and nothing else. I posted them all on my personal Facebook page. It began as a way to show my family in upstate New York where I live in Atlanta. It escalated into this thing where I tried to do and see as many things in Atlanta in one year as I possibly could….and take a picture of it. I’ve taken pictures of nature in Atlanta, landmarks, and wall art. I’ve taken pictures of people having fun at festivals and people eating and drinking. I’ve photographed people with no homes and no food. I’ve photographed happy people and people down on their luck. I’ve photographed people protesting abortion…people protesting for gun control…people protesting violence in Turkey. I’ve photographed beautiful buildings and buildings that are falling apart. I wasn’t afraid to photograph the ugly parts of Atlanta because there were even more beautiful things to see. Through this project, I wanted to tell a story through pictures of what one year in a big city could look like.
